Sponsors and Supporters
We would like to thank the following for the support of S3FL and the various projects. They are: ![]() Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) LMC has made an important several year financial commitment to support the establishment of the S3FL, its student projects and the integration of S3FL activities in the overall academic mission of the College of Engineering. They are especially interested in demonstrating the interdisciplinary aspects and excitement of the aerospace industry. ![]() Michigan College of Engineering The CoE has been a strong supporter of student projects. The Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences; Aerospace Engineering; and Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Departments All three CoE departments have provided both resources and a source of cost sharing. ![]() Space Physics Research Laboratory SPRL provides a great resources from its professional engineering staff. ![]() Michigan Space Grant MSGC has given numerous student scholarships and has given the project the opportunity to present information at their annual conference. ![]() NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) NASA's MSFC is the sponsor (and customer!) for the Icarus student satellite on the ProSEDS electrodynamic tether mission. While MSFC was interested in obtaining a specific small satellite "product" for the ProSEDS mission, they fully recognized the unique educational outreach opportunity that Icarus offered. MSFC engineers and scientists have been some of our best mentors for the students, integrating them in to the overall ProSEDS project activities. ![]() Keithley Instruments Keithley donated two 2410 sourcemeters and a 2700 data logger, as well as had an engineer come to Michigan for a tutorial on the instruments.
